In plain English

MannyMedicare.com is built for seniors. That means big text, tall buttons, plain language, and a phone number on every screen. If anything on this site is hard to read, hard to tap, or hard to hear with a screen reader, Manny wants to know — he’ll fix it, and in the meantime he’ll walk you through your Medicare review on the phone.

1. Our commitment

MannyMedicare.com aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We also follow the accessibility expectations of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act.

2. What we’ve built in

This site is designed and tested for the audience that uses it:

  • Large body text — 18 px base, 20 px form fields, 24+ px headings.
  • Tall, finger-friendly tap targets — primary buttons and form inputs are 60 px tall (well above the WCAG 2.5.5 minimum).
  • High color contrast — navy on white, white on teal, and navy on sun-orange combinations all exceed the 4.5:1 ratio WCAG requires for body text.
  • Visible focus rings — keyboard focus is always shown with a teal outline ring; tab order follows reading order.
  • Semantic HTML — one H1 per page, sectioned content, labeled form fields, and ARIA landmarks for screen readers.
  • Image alt text — the photo of Manny has descriptive alt text; decorative graphics are marked aria-hidden.
  • Reduced-motion respect — if your system is set to reduce motion, the rotating brand mark, the modal animation, and the auto-close progress bar are turned off.
  • No motion-only or color-only information — every interactive state has a text or icon cue, not just a color change.
  • Phone CTA on every screen — the floating “Call Manny” button stays visible so you can always reach a human if the site is too much.
  • English & Spanish — Manny answers in either language, and Spanish translation of site copy is on the v2 roadmap.

3. Tools that work well with this site

We test against current versions of:

  • Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS / iOS), TalkBack (Android), NVDA (Windows), JAWS;
  • Browsers: Safari, Chrome, Edge, Firefox;
  • Browser zoom up to 200%;
  • Operating-system text-size and high-contrast settings.

4. Known limitations

Accessibility is a moving target. The known gaps as of the last revision:

  • Spanish copy — the site is currently English only, even though Manny is bilingual. A full Spanish translation is in progress.
  • Some carrier link destinations — we link to third-party carrier sites (Humana, UnitedHealthcare, etc.) that we do not control; their accessibility may differ from ours.
  • Embedded video — none today; if we add video in the future, it will ship with captions and a text transcript.

5. Get help directly from Manny

If you have any trouble using this website, you don’t have to use the website. Manny will gladly:

  • Walk you through a Medicare review entirely on the phone;
  • Read any plan document aloud and explain it in plain English or Spanish;
  • Mail you a printed version of plan summaries, this notice, or any other document;
  • Meet at your home or a local library (South Florida) when in-person is easier.

6. Report an accessibility problem

Found something that doesn’t work for you? Please tell us so we can fix it. When reporting, include:

  • The page or section where you ran into the issue;
  • The device, browser, or assistive technology you were using;
  • A short description of what happened.

Send reports to:

  • Email: quote@mannymedicare.com
  • Phone: (786) 344-5492

We aim to respond within two business days and to resolve blocking issues within ten business days.

7. Formal complaints

If you would like to file a formal accessibility complaint with a regulator, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights accepts complaints under Section 1557: HHS OCR — File a Complaint.

Don’t fight the website — call Manny.

Real person, real conversation, no forms required.
